Restaurant Search Enhanced: Android device owners can now enjoy enhanced search results for hotels and restaurants. New filters for price, ratings, cuisine, and ‘what’s open right now’ make finding a place to eat or sleep even easier.

Currently these search filters are only available in the United States; however Google plans on expanding this roll out soon.
How can marketers and business owners take advantage of these new filters? In a word, reviews. With the enhanced filters, consumers will be able to search on a location’s rating. To ensure you are capturing the most online real estate, it’s essential your business is focused on capturing consumer reviews.
You can encourage consumer reviews on Google+ by:
- Asking for them. It’s so simple, it’s often over looked. Ask your customers to leave a review on Google+ about your business. You will gain valuable content and possibly some insight into to strengths you may have overlooked.
- Respond to Feedback. You have a lot on your plate, but when you receive positive feedback via email or a letter, take a minute to call the customer and thank them. You can also ask them to post their review to your Google+ page.
- Make Sure They Know How to Find You. Make it easy for your customers to know where to post online. Info at the register or flyers attached to invoices, carry out orders, or receipts keeps your Google+ page top of mind and encourages customers to post reviews online.
- Educate Your Team. Anyone with customer interaction should understand the importance of consumer reviews and should understand the best way to ask for reviews.
