2015 is expected to be another stellar year for franchise businesses. Franchise businesses have been growing and adding more jobs at a faster rate than other areas of the economy. 2015 is projected to be the fifth consecutive year of expansion in the franchise industry.
According to International Franchising Association (IFA) President and CEO Steve Caldeira, “Franchising is a vital engine of economic expansion in the United States and 2015 looks to be another strong year for franchise businesses. With continued job gains, consumer spending will accelerate creating the conditions for another strong year of growth for franchise businesses.”
The recent IFA Franchise Business Economic Outlook for 2015 showed:
- Job growth is expected to increase 2.9% over 2014 with 247,000 jobs to be added in 2015.
- Total jobs in franchising are expected to hit 8.8 million nationwide by the end of the year.
- The IFA projects more than 12,000 franchise businesses will be opened in 2015.
- Franchise businesses should generate a 5.4% increase in economic output this year bringing the total to $889 billion.
