- The Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) was founded in 1953 with the goal to address current needs unmet and future needs unforeseen. To meet these needs, the community foundation works with local families and groups to build hometown legacies that provide enduring support for its mission to improve and enrich the lives of people in the greater Pasadena area. Now, more than sixty years after its inception, the public-spirited organization remains unique in that it supports a broad spectrum of charities from arts organizations to human services agencies. Through an annual competitive application process, grants are awarded to Pasadena non-profits from endowments for which the PCF Board has discretion. Additional grants are generated through donor advised funds, family foundation funds, and other charitable funds where individuals or advisory committees direct the grants to charities anywhere in the country.
