- Friends of Wednesday's Child is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to transforming the educational outcomes of children in foster care in North Texas. There are 6,000 children in foster care and only 41% of them will graduate high school and only 3% will graduate college. Our long-term goal is to increase the number of high school graduates for students in foster care. We believe that every child, regardless of their background, deserves to have a bright and promising future, and we believe that starts with educational success. Friends of Wednesday's Child offers a variety of programs and services.Our Success in School (SIS) program provides: a consistent adult in the role of an Education Specialist, an array of education and enrichment services for the student, and individualized student planning and goal setting.
