- Family Theater is a Hollywood, non-profit Catholic media production company. It was founded in 1947 by Father Patrick Peyton, CSC. It fulfills its mission in five areas of activity: Radio production in English and Spanish, Television and film production, A National Billboard campaign promoting the well known themes, The family that prays together stays together and A world at Prayer is a World at Peace; it also runs one of the most popular international student film competitions, called Angelus, and it has an active outreach to young people and others in Hollywood. James Dean got his first on screen credits with Family Theater in 1951 and George Lucas got film credit as an Asst Cameraman at Family Theater while a student at USC. Princess Grace made her last on-screen appearance with Family Theater several months before her uiuntimely death. The founder of Family Theater, Serbvant of God Father Patrick Peyton, CSC is now a candidate for sainthood.
