• Today we must think differently about crop production, due to climate change, depleted natural resources, population growth and availability of land. The Urban Produce High Density Vertical Growing System (HDVGS) has been developed as a sustainable alternative to traditional agriculture, utilizing advanced hydroponic technologies in a controlled environment. Our patented technology takes the best of hydroponics and increases the yield by stacking produce vertically, in a closed automated environment. Our produce rotates in the greenhouse giving all our product equal light and air distribution. This automated system delivers the proper amount of water, and nutrition exactly when needed. The process greatly increases growing efficiency and significantly reduces costs. THE PROCESS Vertical hanging pendants of seeded trays rotate on a track around the greenhouse so that each plant receives equal light and air distribution. We can grow product in natural or artificial light, above or below ground. In the rotation, the pendants cycle by a station where water and nutrients are dispersed. This entire process is controlled by computer and can be accessed via the internet. THE BENEFITS Smaller Footprint. The vertical stacking of the product greatly reduces the space required: 16 acres of conventional farming can be grown on a 1/8 acre footprint. Cost Savings The system requires 90% less water, 80% less nutrients, with no pesticides. We filter and recycle all our water. We are able to grow produce year round, anywhere, producing a better product for less money. And, as the product can be grown locally, we save on shipping costs while delivering a fresher product. SUMMARY We plan on implementing Urban Produce farms all over the U.S. and worldwide. Our patented growing technology will change the way produce is grown and consumed while reducing the carbon footprint, employing local workers all while bringing fresh produce back to the local communities.
