• Future Academy is a forward thinking and innovative new San Francisco education organization opening up for grades K-8. We believe that the next-generation of students deserve engaging hands-on project based learning that supports: critical thinking and advanced problem solving, investigation/exploration of interesting problems, immersive experiences that focus student thinking, and coordinated hands-on experiences that extend cognitive development across multiple weeks. They deserve mastery-based learning: built around formative assessment, multiple pathways of learning, facilitated in a multi-age setting, and decoupling content standards from grade level. They deserve creative expression: dedicated to student driven creative exploration of content they are learningfacilitated by teachers.Urban Professionals have few school options for their students. Schools suffer from low quality and/or high costs. Our schools ensure high quality instruction, flexibility for families, and strong communication.Future Academy plans to open a number of K-8 school cohort campuses of grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8 locally and then nationally. In Fall 2015, we are opening a pilot at the iHangar in the historic Palace of Fine Arts, located in the Marina District. This first campus will serve students in grades K-2. Students may begin our junior kindergarten program as early as 4 years old.
