    Description

    • SporTran traces its history to the 1870's when mule drawn street cars ran from the downtown area to nearby outlying areas. SporTran has a reputation for safe, reliable service. Mass transit service to our area has been in continuous service for 125 years. Today, SporTran sports a fleet of over 50 modern buses equipped to handle all passengers, including those with disabilities. Our buses are equipped with the latest emission reduction systems and include dual-fuel (Hybrid) buses, and our newest buses are powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). SporTran operates the newest fleet of city buses in Louisiana. And all of SporTran's buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts, kneel for easy access or have special low floors allowing passenger to roll directly onto the bus floor. SporTran also operates a paratransit van service called LiftLine. Liftline vans are specially equipped with wheelchair lifts/ramps and other accessibility features that allow maximum mobility for customers with disabilities.
