• Franconia Sculpture Park is a vibrant artist residency and nonprofit arts organization located in the St. Croix River Valley region of east central Minnesota. Through its artist residency program, Franconia awards competitive fellowships and internships to up to 40 emerging and mid-career visual artists each year, supporting the creation and exhibition of large-scale sculpture at the 30-acre sculpture park and artist residency in Franconia, MN. Franconia also provides artists with the opportunity to exhibit two- and three-dimensional artwork at Franconia in the City @ Casket Gallery in Northeast Minneapolis, MN.MISSIONTo provide physically and intellectually wide-open spaces where all are inspired to participate in the creative process.WHAT WE DOArtist DevelopmentFranconia manages an active artist residency where artists live, create, and exhibit three-dimensional artwork in a singular location. Artists complete ambitious projects, pushing themselves to achieve new visions beyond what they ever thought possible. Since our founding in 1996, Franconia has supported nearly 800 national and international visual artists.Arts LearningWe open doors of new expression for community members of all ages and abilities who engage and learn directly with artists at Franconia through stimulating arts learning programs. Our guided tours, art-making workshops, cast metal sculpture demonstrations, diverse cultural programming, symposia, and gallery exhibitions serve over 13,000 participants each year.Access to the ArtsEvery day, Franconia serves over 100,000 annual visitors with free access to an expansive, ever-changing exhibition of 100+ sculptures and the opportunity to learn from artists-in-residence. We are continually installing new work that inspires, challenges, and delights audiences. Franconia in the City @ Casket gallery and satellite sculpture park furthers our mission by engaging people from the Twin Cities close to home.
