• So why did we decide to set up shop for ourselves? Well, the truth is that there is only so much we can do with a food and travel show. Even a guy we really respect like Anthony Bourdain has been doing special clip show episodes. By the way, the budget for one episode of his show could probably fund a year or more of ours. Travels shows are a lot harder to do than most people think. A lot of stuff ends up on the cutting room floor because sometimes stuff just doesnt work. We had planned a whole episode around Oktoberfest that ended never being produced because we realized that all we had was 10 minutes of a guy eating sausage; not exactly riveting entertainment.In addition to the rigors of a weekly travel series, we also got a lot of positive comments on the little comedic bits we snuck into each episode. We always felt that was what set us apart from the many other travel videos on YouTube.Dated Future represents a fresh start for us. We will continue to do the occasional food and travel show that weve been doing for the past year. It is a format we still love, but even the pros on Travel Channel cant keep it up on a weekly basis. However, we are also glad that we will be able to try new things, beginning with our first short film.
