- Avtron has been the quality leader in load banks since 1953, with thousands of load banks installed worldwide. Currently, Avtron is the largest provider of Load Banks in the world. On March 16, 2012 Avtron Loadbank, Inc. was purchased by Emerson Electric from Avtron Holdings, LLC.Load Banks are used to ensure that standby or emergency generators, installed at critical facilities, work when the power goes down. They work by providing a controlled electrical load to test the generators. Typical users include Internet data centers, hospitals, FAA facilities, financial institutions, nursing homes, casinos, and large retail stores. Customers also include generator and UPS manufacturers, the military, and load bank rental companies. Avtron load banks are known for reliability wherever standby generators, UPSs, and similar items are manufactured or tested. Standard models include resistive, reactive, and DC load banks from 10 KW to 6,000 KW capacity.
