• The LPGA Volvik Championship was developed from the desire to create a professional sports event that would benefit the local community, support charity, and grow the economy. The second annual event will be held in Ann Arbor at Travis Pointe Country Club from May 22-28, 2017. Over 30,000 spectators are anticipated to attend the second annual LPGA Volvik Championship. This professional golf tournament will be internationally televised in over 150 countries and create a $20 million economic impact for southeast Michigan. Being played through Memorial Day weekend, the event will raise awareness for charities, including those that benefit military families. Volvik, who signed a three-year deal as the title sponsor of the LPGA Volvik Championship last year, has been an Official Sponsor of the LPGA Tour for the past five years. Volvik is a South Korean golf ball manufacturer. It has been in the golf ball business for over 30 years. Volvik is the #1 Color Golf Ball on Tour with over 70 professionals using Volvik's golf balls on the world's professional tours. Volvik USA is headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The Memorial Day weekend event creates awareness for the services offered to military families through the National Network of Depression Centers (NNDC). The NNDC has a special commitment to aid the mental health of our dedicated military members, veterans, and their families. The 9th hole DTE Energy Military Suite gave military members, veterans, and their families a view of the action in a first class setting.
