Our focus is on developing and commercializing highly accurate and cost effective surgical solutions that are customized to each patient.OtisKnee® is a new technique that for the very first time allows surgeons to offer Custom Fit Knee® replacement. This means that you will receive a knee replacement tailor made for your own normal (non-diseased) anatomy, and no one elses.OtisKnee® is based on OtisMeds patent pending, proprietary ShapeMatch® technology. Using sophisticated 3-D software, the ShapeMatch® technique optimizes the size and placement of the Custom Fit Knee® before surgery, based on the patients own normal (non-arthritic) knee anatomy. From this very precise 3-D image, custom cutting guides are created to assist the surgeon in making very accurate bone cuts that are specific to the individual patient. This allows for a customized implant fit and placement. Prior to the availability of ShapeMatch® technology, surgeons have relied on experience and intra-operative judgment to correctly size and place the implant in the patient.
