• The Mission of the National Ocean Ranchers Association (N.O.R.A) is to encourage the dynamic growth and development of American mariculture, through the betterment of market conditions, the improvement of product quality, grade, and production efficiency In furtherance of this mission, N.O.R.A. strives to:-Serve as an educational, technical, and informational clearinghouse;-Develop a strategic public policy agenda in partnership with allied state and regional associations;-Strengthen the bond between mariculturalists, researchers and consumers;-Utilize market oriented solutions to address industry challenges;-Develop and promote integrated multi-trophic approach as a means to synergistically increase total output, lower cost, diversify production, reduce risk, and improve management practices; -Promote the L'ostréiculture and the historical heritage of American mariculture as a traditional form of farming, cultivation and general agricultural activity;-Develop the grassroots political capabilities of mariculture retailers, hatcheries, cultivators, processors, salesmen, and consumers;-Further the interests of maricullture at the local, national and international levels;-Serve as the voice of American mariculture in the public arena;-Pursue other activities as support the mission of the Association.
