The Spanner stent has been designed to open the prostatic urethra and allow patients to maintain urine flow and experience volitional voiding by reducing urethral resistance within the prostate. The Spanner stent is an alternative for some patients** to indwelling Foley catheterization, clean intermittent catheterization, or a suprapubic tube.
