• Co-Founded by Thomas Smith and Tucker Mullin, The Thomas E. Smith Foundation (TESF) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization benefiting those affected by and living with paralysis.The TESF believes in a progressive approach towards dealing with spinal cord injuries. The core mission of the organization is to provide those affected by and living with paralysis financial resources to support daily necessities not covered by insurance. These resources include but are not limited to: physical therapy, adaptive rehabilitation equipment, transportation, home modifications, and private nursing care. The TESF also fully supports innovative and preventative programs that decrease the risk of catastrophic head, neck and spinal cord injuries in ice hockey. The Look-Up Line, ice hockeys first warning track; is an adjunct to decreasing the risk of head and catastrophic spinal cord injuries. The Look-Up Line does NOT affect the speed, intensity or heritage of the game of hockey, and does not require new playing rules directed at the player.Established in 2010, the TESFs mission has evolved into a dynamic platform that targets specific issues in the Spinal Cord Injury Community. Each facet of our preventative, motivational, and reactive mission is meant to provide substantial support to individuals and families, and the TESF is fully committed to creating influential solutions that make a difference for those in need.
