- The NAWIC Education Foundation (NEF) was established in 1972 by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). NEF is an IRS 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and is governed by a Board of Trustees.NEF is solely supported by sponsorship's and donations. Your financial support educates others through various programs and adult education courses. Fund raising also is done by NEF Fund Raising Liaisons at a regional and chapter level.NEF offers educational programs for individuals who want to gain a greater knowledge and understanding of construction industry principles and practices. In addition to the adult education programs, NEF also sponsors three programs aimed at school aged children:* Block Kids Building Program (grades K-6)* Accessory Structure Project (grades 8-12)* CAD Design/Drafting (grades 9-12)NEF is an approved quality education provider by the American Council on Construction Education (ACCE).
