OUR CHILDREN LA (OCLA) is a volunteer-led, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that uses mobile-centric communication and web-based resources to assist youth and to facilitate positive change in the lives of vulnerable Los Angeles county children and youth under age 25 with a focus on UNACCOMPANIED HOMELESS YOUTH AGES 12-25. Our Programs: 1.The 2015 Directory of Services for Homeless Youth This 146-page directory of service providers lists basic services and other needed resources that can be accessed directly by youth (without prescreening or referral). It is intended to serve as a resource guide for youth in need as well as outreach workers, librarians, educators and others who seek to connect homeless or resource insecure youth to services. PDF available on LACOE, LA City Public Library and LA County Public Library websites as well as on Our Children LA's own website. Print copies are currently available in every branch of the LA City library system 2.WIN (What I Need) -- A free mobile application for Homeless Youth Designed to empower homeless or resource-insecure youth, ages 12-25, to locate and connect to 11 types of basic services in LA County. Listed services do not require a referral to serve youth. . The searchable application offers information and live connections to over 800 area programs providing food, shelter, health/mental health, legal, drop-in/access centers, jobs, transportation, education, government benefits, hotlines and crisis supports. 3.www.OurChildrenla.org A one-stop website with a resource and community engagement center for the use of regional child advocates, policymakers, service providers, youth and others. It is Intended to improve local understanding and drive regional change efforts to better support the critical needs of Los Angeles area homeless youth. It also hosts the PDF of the 2015 Directory, and the web version of WIN.
