    Description

    • Colorado UpLift is a nonprofit, youth service organization teaching character, leadership and life skills to urban kids in 28 Denver Public Schools. Our unique model provides full-time, salaried staff members who teach and mentor kids starting in elementary school, following them from grade to grade until they graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education. Colorado UpLift offers five program areas to kids each year for a whole child approach to youth intervention (In School, After School, Adventure, Advanced Leadership and Post Secondary). Overall, UpLift is a relational solution to the issues faced by at-risk students. Results include: - 98% of students in the UpLift program are graduating from high school (compared to 60% of their non-UpLift peers). - 86% of UpLift graduates are enrolled in college (compared to 50% of graduates from the district).- Third-party research shows UpLift kids attend their academic classes 41% more than their non-UpLift peers.- Each high school graduate saves the economy around $2 million.
