- BizStarts is a nonprofit organization that fosters entrepreneurship in southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is to build and expand a vibrant entrepreneurial business climate in the Milwaukee 7 region by training, educating and mentoring entrepreneurs and their companies. We facilitate growth of companies through our BizStarts Program, resulting in increased job creation, business sustainability and economic development in the region. We serve anyone wanting to start a business that will create sustainable jobs. Since 2008, BizStarts has served over 612 entrepreneurs at various stages of development and we continue to work with them until their business is successful. The BizStarts Program includes:Personal Assessment and Coaching: Each entrepreneur coming to BizStarts has a one-on-one meeting to diagnose and identify their needs.Market Assessment: We help the entrepreneur identify customers and drive sales and revenue. This includes online marketing, e-commerce, distribution, identifying the market and go-to market strategy. Team Assessment: We make sure the team is right for business success by connecting them to the right mentors and professional resources in law, accounting, HR and other partners. Financial Preparation: We prepare our entrepreneurs for eligibility to apply to lending institutions, crowdfunding, equity investment and other capital raising strategies. We serve our entrepreneurs at all stages of development and stay with them until their business succeeds, creating jobs in the Wisconsin economy. BizStarts hosts monthly Professional Programs, offering entrepreneurs workshops that teach skills to advance their startups. Along with Professional Programs, BizStarts offers a series of events throughout the year, including networking and social events.
