• Zoobean's core service, Beanstack, is a customized service designed to engage families with young readers and community members of all ages. It includes both a Readers Advisory service focused on childrens books and a Summer Reading service that facilitates participation from children, teens, and adults. When compared to other services, Beanstack is set apart by its beautiful, clean, mobile-first design. It also uniquely sends each patron a weekly personalized email that recommends a specific library program and book in your collection. Beanstack includes simple registration through which multiple kids, teens, or adults can be set-up under a single account. Families are provided easy tools for logging their reading, earning badges, and completing game boards with suggested activities. Library staff use the service to track incentives, run drawings, help patrons log reading, and produce branch-level or systemwide usage reports. Beanstack clients are also provided with innovative online+offline marketing materials and training conducted by librarians. Since introducing the service with Sacramento Public Library in January, Beanstack is now offered year-round by over 60 libraries, including Brooklyn Public Library, Edmonton Public Library, Skokie Public Library, and Montgomery County Public Libraries. The company also recently launched Beanbright, a service for School Libraries to better engage with students' families throughout the school year. The company's founders appeared on ABC's Shark Tank, and received an investment from Mark Cuban. Zoobean has also been featured in The Washington Post, Real Simple, Cool Mom Picks, among many others. The company was founded by Google's former head of K12 education and Washington, DC's former Teacher of the Year. In May 2013, it launched a monthly Home delivery service, which mails a book personally selected for each child.
