- Pay Our Interns is a national campaign to advocate for more paid internships for millennials. Paid internships should be available to all students in every sector, whether private or public. A students socioeconomic status should not be a barrier to getting real-world work experience. It is imperative that we fund more paid internships, not only because its the right thing to do, but because it makes sense from a financial standpoint. According to a survey done by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, students with paid internships receive higher salaries than students with unpaid internships. With their higher salaries, those students can then contribute more to society, returning the initial investment made in their experiential education.
