• We dont really have an official mission statement, but we do have an unofficial motto: Its what we do! As in: Sold a really large lumber package its what we do! Drove to South Carolina overnight because a customer left a window off their order its what we do! Spent all evening looking at lumberyard websites and texting back and forth about future improvements its what we do! James Cappano bought LumberTown in 2012 and his vision has turned the company around. However, the most important thing he did was bring back the enthusiasm that we all have for this place and for this business. He came in to a store that the recession had taken a lot of the motivation out of, and told us that it was time to grow, time to be great. To do that, we had to concentrate on what we DO great and make some hard decisions on the things that we dont really want to do. We are a home design center, a building material supplier, and a lumber yard. We have a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge. We have an all new paint department and a great fastener department, but we are NOT a hardware store and have eliminated most of our electric and plumbing items. Its just NOT what we do. When youre ready to build your deck, come to us because we have the displays, the product knowledge, the designers and the estimators that will make sure you get the deck you really want. We love building and we want our customers to have a great experience when they come here, whether that means getting hands on with our displays and exchanging DIY stories with our staff, or zipping through the drive thru for a couple extra 2×4s without even having to get out of their truck. We have the resources and expertise to bid and deliver on large commercial contracts throughout the midwest and east coast. This is our specialty.
