• Parents of Allergic Kids was formed in 2006 by parents that have children with various serious allergies. PAK's members include parents of children (from babies to young adults) with life threatening food, latex, and venom allergies. PAK has grown to over 800 families in Charlotte, North Carolina and the surrounding area. PAK has a variety of meetings, guest speakers, special events such as family yoga, workshops, and seasonal food free children's events. We have recently add our IMPAKT group to engage our teens in various activities, i.e. field day, community service, and outreach to our younger members. Our educational meetings cover topics such as research updates, asthma, and epinephrine training. We also host parent get togethers, advocacy projects, i.e. working with local school boards to create anaphylaxis and allergy protocols, nurses in schools, epinephrine legislation, and community education. We work with a team of Board Certified Allergists that assist us in these endeavors. PAK is an affiliated support group with national organizations such as FARE, FAACT, and AAFA. In November 2016 PAK became an official 501(c)(3).
