- Spent 5 months (05/08-10/08) living and working in Kisumu, Kenya at as part of the senior staff and institutional founding team. Worked with individuals and groups throughout the community on financial inclusion and education to improve access to credit, homeownership and entrepreneurship. Developed microfinance programs, such as: micro credit, micro insurance, social development, micro enterprise development, remittances, micro warehousing.Solicited large scale contributions ($5,000-$250,000) via written grants/proposals, phone calls and in-person meetings. Personally devised and started a program of value chain based networking to facilitate rural-urban micro enterprise linkages. Including the implementation of a PVCA feasibility study to collect and analyze data used to model market place dynamics along the value chain proposition of rural to urban small and micro enterprises. Started and managed a large database of survey and financial information using Excel and FileMaker Pro. Used data to make recommendations and inform social and economic metrics regarding institutional performance.
