• UFS is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting freedom, dignity and democracy for the Syrian people. UFS works to ensure that Syria becomes a thriving democracy and a model for its neighbors in the region.UFS seeks to fill a niche that is unique to Americans and that has yet to be filled by other Syrian American organizations. We firmly believe that as Americans, we have a unique role and responsibility in the unfolding of the Syrian Revolution.Our message is a positive one. A free Syria is about more than the removal of Bashar al-Assad and his tyrannical regime; a free Syria is also about assisting Syrians in building a strong and lasting democratic society, where each individual Syrian has a voice in the direction of the nation. A free Syria in which people are guaranteed a fair opportunity to pursue their dreams regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or gender.UFS advocates on behalf of the Syrian people by fostering positive relationships with the U.S. government, domestic and international NGOs, Syrian American organizations, as well as with the Syrian opposition. UFS also strives to provide practical solutions to the various challenges facing Syrians through strategic insights, research and education.UFS is a registered non profit corporation, and our work is funded exclusively through private donations. UFS is not a political action committee and does not rate, endorse or contribute to candidates.
