• Mission: Our Mission is to build human resilience. we fulfill our mission through research, education, and convening. Who We Are: Inspired by the tragic loss of young lives in our community, NRI began a quest to identify proven techniques that build stronger individuals and communities. We searched around the globe for the tools necessary to prepare for, adapt to, and grow through trauma, disruption, or loss. What We Do: NRI understands that human resilience is skills-based, and therefore teachable. We educate through evidence-based workshops, training, and certification programs to empower leaders to build resilience in their own lives and communities. We convene resilience pioneers from around the world and multiple disciplines to create innovative solutions for todays most pressing challenges. We conduct research and develop models, including the THRIVE Model of Human Resilience. Why We Do It: Our world is experiencing growing levels of toxic stress and the devastating psychological impacts of trauma, disruptions, and loss that disconnect us from ourselves and our communities. The question for communities around the world is becoming not whether adversity will strike, but when. To cope with these complex demands, it is essential that we come together and harness our collective knowledge across multiple disciplines to build resilience, respond to traumatic events with strength, and create an environment in which all can thrive. The National Resilience Institute is recognized nonprofit under IRS section 501(c)(3).
