- Our mission is currently under review. In the interim, here is a brief synopsis of ECNC: To provide social services to residents of East cleveland including educational services to children, prevention services for alcohol & drug abuse & special assistance to individuals & families in need in emergency crisis situations. Our staple program is called Freedom Schools. Freedom Schools is a program designed by the Childrens Defense Fund that not only knocks out summer reading loss but promotes social action and engagement within children from ages 5-17. This program has been a resource for families in and around East Cleveland to provide a safe, healthy and enriching experience during the summer. East Cleveland Neighborhood Center is located in East Cleveland, Ohio at the East Cleveland Public Library. This organization has been operating for 30+ years.
