- Nature Abounds is an emerging 501c3 national non-profit organization focused on bringing people together for a healthy planet. We do so by engaging citizens in environmental volunteerism and stewardship. Since inception in 2008, Nature Abounds has launched several signature programs - IceWatch USA, Watch the Wild, Citizen Watch, Turtle Ambassadors, Climate Change Ambassadors, Watershed Ambassadors, and Knitter's for Nature's Critters. They've also revitalized and expanded the Senior Environment Corps(SEC) program in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Alabama. Nature Abounds won the 2013 Western Pennsylvania Environmental Award. As of January 2014, Nature Abounds has over 4,000 citizens engaged in environmental volunteering across all fifty states and beyond.Nature Abounds staff has also been active on several major environmental fronts. These include: climate change, fracking, GMO labels, off-shore drilling, mountain-top removal, endangered species, over-fishing, and wildlife issues.
