• Located in Kensington, CT, Rotating Composite Technologies, LLC is a small company founded in 2008 whose roots, including staff, owners, and Intellectual Property, are derived from ACI (AeroComposites, Inc.). The company officers have past experience in United Technologies Corporation's (UTC) local Hamilton Sundstrand and Pratt and Whitney Divisions, which included extensive work in rotating components. ACI has been designing, developing and producing its own patented, high-tech, composite-bladed propulsion systems since shortly after its founding in 1997, but is now limiting itself to producing non-certified propellers for the Experimental (owner-built) sector of the General Aviation market. RCTs central staff consists of six multi-disciplined engineers who are all focused on designing and developing the worlds strongest and lightest, composite-bladed propulsion products. RCTs engineering staff has developed key, in-house technology to accelerate composite blade design, analysis and fabrication/development from initial customer requirements to prototyping and on to limited production, if necessary. This software leads to rapid modeling and evaluation of new blade designs using 2D and 3D ANSYS Finite Element Analysis programs. RCT has further upgraded its 3D aerodynamic capabilities by licensing the ANSYS CFX code, allowing the staff to analyze various applications such as ducted fans and aid in the evaluation of propulsor installed effects.
