• The Ivymount Corporation operates the following supported non-profit organizations: The Ivymount School, Ivymount Outreach Programs, The Maddux School, and Ivymount at Stevens School. Founded in 1961, The Ivymount School is a non-public special education and related services program that integrates academic, social and pragmatic skills programming in classrooms with low student/teacher ratios. Ivymount School currently serves over 200 students from the Washington DC metro area with Autism Spectrum Disorders, intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, other health impairment, specific learning disabilities, and speech or language impairment. Ivymount Outreach Programs provides recreational and therapeutic programs after school and on weekends to students with special needs and their families. Development and supervision of Applied Behavior Analysis home programs is also available through Outreach for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The Maddux School is a developmentally-based, early childhood/primary program for pre-school through second grade students. The schools unique trans-disciplinary model combines creative approaches with traditional early childhood education. With an expected opening date of 2018, Ivymount at Steven School is a planned demonstration-model program which will operate in collaboration with District of Columbia Public Schools to serve children with autism, as well as provide training for special education professionals.
