- Parabiotic R&D is focused on the development of innovative combination antibiotic/probiotic drug products encapsulated together as one single pH dependent dose, for the treatment of Inflammatory Bowel disease - ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease - while minimizing the side effects of antibiotic therapy thru the prophylactic addition of probiotics. The safety and efficacy of lead product PB-1 is well documented thru millions of patient exposures to the combination antibiotics worldwide. PB-1 will address an underlying causal factor of disease, pathogenic and mutated commensal strains of bacteria, long suspected in the pathogenesis of IBD and will not be merely symptom managing. The evidence for bacterial linkage in disease is well documented by leading investigators worldwide and provides the basis for the rationale behind Parabiotic's six recently issued PATENTS. The worldwide market exceeds 8 million sufferers. Currently, we have plans underway for Phase II clinical trials and welcome additional interest in this project.
