• Eldora Speedway is a half-mile high-banked dirt racing facility located just north of Rossburg (population 201) in Darke County, Ohio just south of its border with Mercer County. Its location approximately 10 miles east of the Indiana border puts Eldora at the crossroads of some of America's most fertile agricultural communities.Affectionately referred to as The Big E, Eldora is owned by motorsports entrepreneur and NASCAR, IndyCar and USAC champion, Tony Stewart, who purchased Eldora from its legendary founder and promoter, Earl Baltes, in 2004. Baltes and wife, Berneice, opened Eldora on June 6, 1954 and had been the sole owner of the facility from day one.Eldora is home to The Biggest Dirt Races In The World, including early June's $100,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream® Weekend by Ferris Mowers, mid-July's $50,000-to-win Kings Royal® Weekend and The Grandaddy Of Them All - The World 100® Weekend each of which attract over 20,000 spectators for the three-day extravaganzas.Since 2013, NASCAR has awarded Eldora a date on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule making it the only NASCAR National Series event held on dirt.In addition to Eldora's major blockbuster events, it is also renown for spectacular fireworks shows, pyrotechnics, affordable ticket pricing (including FREE general admission for children 12 & younger) and fantastic food at famously low prices.
