• East End Neighborhood House mission is to serve as a community safely aiding others through life's passages. Established in 1907 East End has practiced the foundation of the settlement house movement that helped immigrants acclimate to this society by affirming their culture, opening new venues for opportunities, and providing placed based services defined by the voices of those being served. TodayZulma Zabala serves as the CEO for East End Neighborhood House, originally from Newark NJ of Puerto Rican heritage, brings a wealth of experience, some it taking place here in Cleveland for the past 14 years. Zulma Zabala is a graduate of Cleveland State University where she gained a Doctorate in Law and Masters in Public Administration. She has over 22 years of experience in the field of social services ranging from counseling, advocacy and management. For the past three years she served as the Chief Operating Officer for East End. She is thChair of the Council of Neighborhood Leaders, which extensively work with the county to support over 12,000 families and advocate for children. Zabala is known for her ability to create and nurture collaborations, serving as an educator in the area of cultural competency and humility.
