• The Wendell Scott Foundation Founded in honor of Wendell Oliver Scott, Sr. the first African-American race car driver in NASCAR and the first African-American to win a race in the Grand National Series , NASCARs highest level. Our Mission The Wendell Scott Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to provide intensive youth services, mentoring, job-skill training, cultural enrichment services, educational opportunities, and other supportive services, that rely on applications of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) to at-risk, under-served youths between the ages of 8 18 years of age. Community The Wendell Scott Foundation introduces a community based initiative designed to go into under-served communities and provide youth exposure to STEM educational opportunities and cultural enrichment activities that historically have not been accessed. Service Offerings Mentoring Program. A key activity of the Wendell Scott Foundation is its Mentoring Program. The objective of mentoring is to be a development strategy in a youths successful path to adulthood. Job Readiness Program. The Wendell Scott Foundation has a sound commitment to readying a productive and stable workforce. Legacy Leaders. The Legacy Leaders initiative provides a comprehensive service program linking cultural enrichment, education, community involvement, and mentoring for our most at risk adolescents. Steer into STEM After School & Summer Camp Program. Includes intensive STEM activities, job-readiness training, vocational training, STEM career exploration, and other support services to help current and future youths make a successful transition into STEM educational advances and STEM careers.
