• Our Mission: Family Promise Metrowest is a cooperative, interfaith partnership, offering hope to homeless families with children through safe transitional shetler, meals, and supportive case management as they seek permanent housing. Family Promise Metrowest is a community response to family homelessness. We are a small professional staff supported by over 2000 volunteers from 48 congregations, schools, businesses, civic organizations and the communty at large. Our congregations provide food, clothing and shelter by opening their doors to our families one week at a time, 3-4 times a year. During the day, the families come to our Day Center in Natick, Ma. Our staff offers indiviudalized case management and services that address the root cause of each family's homelessness. Family Promise is more than shelter. Our professional staff work with our families to set personal, attainable goals to secure and most importantly, maintain housing. We provide education, day care and workforce development through our Steps to Success progam , all of whichl support our families on the road to sustainability. Famlies receive all they need so they can save 80% of what they earn to move on successfully. As an organization that relies soley on donations to support our families, volunteers are the foundation of our organization. Volunteers help by making dinners, donating supplies, providing professional services, and helping out at the Day Center. If a family is homeless and earns more that 115% of the federal poverty level or approximately $26,000, they are not eligible for a place in a state shelter. Family Promise offers a clear alternative for families who have nowhere to turn.
