- A Thyme to Cook is a 17-time finalist and 3-time recipient of Catered Arts Though Innovative Excellence (CATIE) Awards and has been named Connecticut Caterer of the Year. 2014 celebrates 30 years of creating memorable experiences in Southern New England. Company founder, Linda Sample, utilizes her background in nursing and international travel to inspire ATTCs core values. Linda serves on the Board of Directors of the International Caterers Association and is a national leader and educator in the catering industry. This relationship with caterers around the world helps to shape our direction and development. We are passionate about flavor, fresh locally sourced ingredients, relationships with local farmers and purveyors, exceeding client expectations, learning new cultural influences, being socially responsible, providing continuous education for our team and paying attention to logistical details. We are passionate about really and truly listening to our clients, innovation and originality and meeting challenges head on! We are passionate about our team, working to bring out the best of each others talents with synergy and humor. As one of only two, New England caterers to be Green Certified, we strive to minimize our impact on the environment. We recycle or compost over 70% of our total waste. Flavors do not get more local than those from our own herbs and edible flower gardens. Along with the ability to walk to local farms for seasonal vegetables, we have cultivated strong relationships with many outstanding local wineries, breweries, cheesemongers to promote small businesses. We know who we are and what we do best and do not try to be anything else. We are responsive to dietary diversity such as gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. Because we produce all our own foods (no frozen or pre-made), we are extremely flexible and revise menus according to changes in weather or availability of ingredients.
