- a.v. max has been a pioneer in leading-edge fashion jewelry since 1998. The brand was born with a booth at a trade show, and immediately chic retailers throughout the world embraced us. We are based in the heart of New York City's Garment center, where the energy and diversity of the city are a constant inspiration. Each piece is lovingly hand made by artisans in our airy loft studio. Not only are we proud of the made in the USA product we create, but it is also important to us that we support the remaining U.S. jewelry supply factories. Amy Vennema is the designer behind the a.v. max brand. She was raised in Greenwich Village and now lives in Brooklyn, where she and her husband raised two daughters. Being a native New Yorker has played a very important role in Amy's esthetic. Fashion is a vital piece of N.Y.C., and our designs reflect exactly what this city means: each piece is always new, exciting and beautiful.
