• The lustigdancetheatre professional company offers performances of high artistic quality imbued with virtuosity, energy, dynamics, and humanity that establish a meaningful connection with audiences. A contemporary dance company, LDT supports a creative environment for artists and choreographers that furthers the evolution of dance in innovative ways by celebrating new works and preserving modern masterpieces. Collaborations with other New Jersey artists and organizations is a priority, as well as the consistent use of live music for performances.The company currently consists of an ethnically diverse group of ten dancers (five men and five women). The dancers hail from an impressive roster of major Universities, dance companies, and training programsLDT has developed several educational programs designed to bring dance to public and private schools in accessible formats that highlight dance as a means to health, fun and enrichment. Programming includes Artist and Choreographic Residencies, Assemblies and In-school Dance Residencies which fulfill the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards in Dance Education, and, in an effort to help thwart childhood obesity, LDT has integrated lessons on nutrition into each workshop. Programs formally developed thus far may also be adapted for community settings and older patrons:
