- Founded in 1978, with offices in Marin County and Santa Clara, FW is a nonprofit dedicated to helping people of all ages meet life challenges by providing positive social-emotional support and psychotherapy. Family Works annually provides direct services to over 2,000 people of all income levels in 11 counties throughout the Bay Area. FW mission is to provide compassionate, effective and affordable mental health services that build essential life-skills and improve relationshipsOur 35 full and part-time staff collaborate with over 40 community partners to provide services in 4 areas: I. Free Preventive Mental Health Outreacha)Facilitated support groups for expectant and new mothers in Spanish b)Preventive mental health services for high-risk middle school students to enhance their healthy growth, increase safety, & enrich their relationshipsc)Preventive mental health services for at risk high-school studentsd)Specialized pre-K teacher trainings to assist in meeting their students emotional & educational needs & to engage parental supportII. On-Site Mental Health Servicesa)Child Centered Parenting & Co-Parenting Workshops for families in all circumstances b)Counseling for individuals, children, teens and couplesc)Temperament programs for adults, children & professionalsd)Mental health services through the Medi-Cal & California Victim Compensation Programe)Mental health support for the LGBTQ community III. Developmental Disabilities ServicesOne on one parenting support & life skills education for developmentally disabled adults IV.
