- NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Wood County's mission is to offer help and hope to families and individuals affected by mental illness through support, education, and advocacy. NAMI Wood County is a local affiliate of NAMI Ohio as well as the much larger National Alliance on Mental Illness.NAMI Wood County offers many types of mental health support groups, classes, training (Crisis Intervention Training and Mental Health First Aid) and educational programs for family members, individuals and community members. Reducing stigma for those with a mental health condition is a high priority of our outreach and education, along with providing useful tools for those who have mental illness and those close to them.NAMI Wood County also stocks a large array of printed resources which cover a wide range of topics from local, state, and national levels, as well as an in house library with nearly 400 books, tapes and dvd's is also available for free lending.
