Get Full AccessDescription
- Gualala is a picturesque little village perched on cliffs overlooking a wide river where it enters the Pacific Ocean. The Gualala Art Center is the story of the little-village-that-could. Construction on the multi-million-dollar cultural building, tucked in the redwoods on eleven acres by the Gualala River, began in March 1996, and the Arts Center was dedicated in 1998. The 15,000 square foot facility includes a three-hundred-seat auditorium (with a stage and dressing rooms), commercial kitchen, conference room, classrooms, library, ceramics studio and two dedicated exhibition spaces. Outside areas include a amphitheater with stage, a garden terrace, a hiking trail down to the river, a meditation area in magnificent rings of old-growth redwoods, a barbecue area that seats 100, and a sculpture garden. Gualala Arts is the nucleus of the local community with art exhibits, music, and theater along with a range of workshops. The Arts Center may also be rented for weddings or private social events.More information at GualalaArts.org
