• The Sacramento Council of Parent Teacher Associations is an advisory body with representative membership from all of the elementary and secondary PTA/PTSA units in Sacramento City Unified School District. This Council serves as a line of communication and coordinates the efforts of the respective units. Council PTA is also the link to the higher levels of the PTA organization, Third District PTA, which includes Sacramento, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Yolo, Sutter, Yuba counties, and California State PTA, which boasts one million members. PTA continues to be the nations largest and most powerful childrens advocacy group and offers its members many ways to be involved, to strengthen their skills as parent volunteers, and to expand their understanding of students needs. Sacramento Council of PTAs is also operates the PTA Childrens Clothes Closet, which is located at Leonardo Da Vinci school. All PTAs are drop off points for donations for the Clothes Closet. Donations that are welcome are: new and gently used clothing, uniforms and shoes; new socks and undies; and backpacks. There is a great need for adult size clothing for the older students.
