Paws & Think, Inc., is a values-driven 501(c)(3) charitable organization incorporated in October 2001.We serve at-risk youths, at-risk canines and children and adults with disabilities/special needs in Central Indiana. We are an all-volunteer, community-based organization, working in partnership with schools, detention centers, youth agencies, humane societies/shelters and more. We are also committed to research that validates the benefits of the human-animal connection. Paws and Think, Inc. has over 200 active volunteers, including over 100 registered therapy dogs. We provide therapy classes, evaluations, registration and liability insurance for our volunteers. We are also an affiliate of Reading Education Assistance Dogs and work in Title I schools to help youth attain grade level skills. Our Youth-Education programs have saved many dogs from being euthanized as well as providing positive reinforcement training skills to at-risk youth. Our FOUND project hopes to provide a resource for other organizatons seeking to replicate our highly successful programs. Young people who may have made poor decisions or come from disadvantaged situations can find self-confidence, pride, improved skills and new resources to take them to a brighter future.Mission Statement:We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the community by using the power of the human-animal bond.
