• Admiral was founded in March of 1989 by Scott McNelley and George Azar mostly as a high-quality, service-minded alternative to sub-par moving services with a focus on office moving and quality-conscious services to residential customers. Admiral Movers has grown to be Montgomerys most prominent premiere provider of moving, storage, and records storage to both residential and commercial customers in Alabamas River Region. In a small 7,500 sq ft, old cotton warehouse, Scott McNelley reset a higher bar for office and high-end household moving and storage. Our story began with one moving van and an 1976 pickup truck bought from George Azar. After reading about Ed Katz (the Office Moving Guru) in Atlanta, McNelley and Azar decided to take a seminar from Mr. Katz and their company grew. Katz remains a close confidant and adviser to McNelley. Hard work and determination has driven Admiral Movers to become the leading moving and storage company in the southeastern United States.Admiral Movers ownership and expansionIn 2000, Scott realized a long time dream and bought out Azar to become sole owner of Admiral Movers. The following year, the company was recognized as one of Montgomerys Up-And-Coming Small Businesses as it was named on the Emerging Thirty list by the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. The company moved its facility to their current location at the Montgomery Business Park, which also includes a 23,000 sq ft storage warehouse. In 2006, Admiral broke new ground and stepped foot into Records Management. Specializing in records retention, document storage, shredding, shredding consoles, scanning and remote backup. Today, Admiral Mayflower and Admiral Records Management are synonymous with business support for corporations.Admiral Movers HonorsIn 2006, Admiral Movers joined UniGroup Inc. and became an agent for Mayflower Transit, Americas Most Recognized Name in Moving. In the same year, Admiral Movers received first place for moving services in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties by the Montgomery Advertisers eighth annual Readers Choice awards.
