• Edgewater Systems for Balanced,Inc. through its d/b/a Edgewater Behavioral Health Services has been successfully providing mental health treatment services since 1974 and substance abuse treatment since 1980 for the most vulnerable children and adults in Northwest Indiana. Edgewater is certified by the State of Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Division of Mental Health. Edgewater is accredited by CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission, a national accrediting body. Beginning in 2016, Edgewater officially began providing primary care services, through its d/b/a Edgewater Primary Care. Edgewater has two primary care offices in Gary and Griffith, Indiana.Edgewater offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient treatment modalities in the behavioral health field including individual, family and youth counseling; addiction and dependency treatment; crisis management; and emergency services. We provide supported independent, semi-independent and community-based residential placement in the Gary area, with a focus on the chronically homeless, mentally ill consumer. Edgewater also offers a full range of primary care services that includes: Family Medicine; Internal Medicine; Womens Health; Sick Visits; Physical Exams; Disease Screening; and Laboratory Work. Edgewater also has a full-service on-site pharmacy.Edgewater maintains quality assurance of our various programs and services through the process of supervision, monitoring, evaluation, and compliance with the requirements of accreditation and certification. Edgewater follows a system of continuous quality improvement. This is accomplished by setting forth a set of performance criteria, measuring performance against these criteria, and taking appropriate and timely corrective action based on measurement results. Edgewater uses a Continuous Quality Improvement Team to review indicators of performance from all departments and recommend improvements in the quality of programs.
