Established in 1904 and headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, Dean provides: Medical and health services through a network of Dean or St. Mary's/Dean-owned clinics throughout southern Wisconsin. Health insurance services through Dean Health Plan. Ancillary health services within Dean Clinic locations. Clinical research and education, through Dean Foundation.Dean is a for-profit, integrated healthcare organization based in Madison, Wisconsin. Dean consists of a network of more than 60 clinics in south-central Wisconsin, Davis Duehr Dean eye care, insurance provider Dean Health Plan, and pharmacy benefits company Navitus Health Solutions. Approximately 500 physicians provide primary, specialty and tertiary care in the clinics. The system serves more than 300,000 health plan members.Dean joined the SSM Health Care system in September 2013. SSM Health Care is a St. Louis-based order which also owns several hospitals nationwide, including St. Mary's Hospital in Madison and Janesville, Wisconsin and St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
