- The Beloit Professional Baseball Association, Inc. was founded in 1981 as a not-for-profit, community-owned franchise with the sole purpose of providing the stateline region with affiliated Minor League Baseball. The Beloit Snappers Board of Directors is made up of volunteer members who share an interest in sports, and a dedication to Snappers Baseball and the community. Before the Snappers arrived in town in 1982, the only professional baseball team in Beloit was a team affiliated with the old Class D Wisconsin Association in 1905. The Beloit Snappers were a Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers from when the club joined the Midwest League in 1982 until the end of the 2004 season. The team was known as the Beloit Brewers (named after the parent club) through the 1994 season, when the club name then changed to the Snappers. The Snappers are now the Class A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins and will remain with the Twins through the 2012 season.
