Looking for new and innovative ways to drive more quality traffic to your website? Content Marketing as a marketing approach, focuses on the creation and distribution of relevant content to attract new visitors/customers/leads to your business. Add to this, the social marketing avenues available to us all, and you have a wonderful opportunity for some untapped resources to learn more about your product or service. Here are a few tips and tricks to get you started or to add some spice to an already established routine.
A versus B
When creating your content, it is always a good rule of thumb to create multiple instances of the same ad/post/tweet/etc. Once you have done this, run both simultaneously to the exact same groups and see which ad/post/tweet/etc outperforms against the other. I have done this in the past doing things like just changing the keyphrase used – and you would be surprised how just changing a word or two in a headline can more than double the clicks for an ad.
Who is your audience?
Knowing your target audience and keeping this audience saved as a specific, defined group will help ensure that your ads are seen by the right groups and reposted/retweeted as much as possible. Not to mention that it will reduce the advertising costs that might otherwise be extremely high if you are targeting too large of an audience.
Share and Share Again…
Remember, maximizing your ad’s visibility is the end goal of content marketing. So recycling an ad every couple of weeks if it had a high read rate will only allow you to reach those viewers that missed the original post. This is not to say that you should repost the same ads/posts/tweets/etc every day, mix it up, but stay in the stream.
Let’s not forget, when adding tracking the effectiveness of your content marketing campaign, either through your blog posts or your social media outlets, using Visual Visitor’s anonymous visitor identification and website visitor tracking will help when determining the effectiveness of these campaigns. Not only will the website visitor tracking show you their visits, what pages they are visiting, and how much time is spent per page, the analytics pages will show where they are coming from, which social media outlets are performing the best, and more. Combine these features with the email campaign feature, and you’re good to go!
