Bing is following close on the heels of Google’s addition of consumer ratings within text ads. Partnering with Viewpoints, a review service, Bing’s new Consumer Ratings Annotations program is being test in the US and Canada.
With ratings on a 5 point scale, the Consumer Ratings Annotations program provides a total score based on features that include:
- Pricing
- Customer Services
- Selections
- Returns
The number of reviews the total score is based on is included next to the score. Consumers can click the total review number link to view detailed review information including the complete review and its source.
Additionally, Bing has added a notation for the number of followers the brand has on Twitter. The follower count is strictly informational with no link to the brand’s Twitter account.
